Satin Stitch Machine Applique

In this class you will learn the technique of machine applique using the satin stitch (zig zag) practicing inside and outside corners and smooth rounded edges. We will prepare the applique pieces using paper backed fusible webbing, make bias stems using unexpected supplies and utilize a layering method to eliminate bulk. Templates will be provided for making a pillow, wall hanging or table runner containing a string of Christmas lights for a Blue Christmas. (Kit will include my favorite fusibles, stabilizer and other supplies but NOT fabric). There will be kits available for $8.

Once you learn satin stitch machine applique you will find that with just a little applique you can personalize towels for brides or burp cloths for babies and more.

You will also learn how to make bias stems like the ones used to form the lettering and the vertical notebook line in Cursive which won 2nd place in the Gray Matters category of the quilt show.
